Proposed Rutland Town sales tax increase.
Beware: everybody will be paying more for everything (heating oil, cable, auto parts, furniture, sneakers etc…) except groceries, in exchange for a nominal reduction in Rutland Town property tax depending on receipts. For example: based on sales receipts from 2007, a $200,000 residence might save $3-500.
